Mansfield Female College Museum occupies the remains of one of the earliest women's colleges west of the Mississippi. Its collections cover student life, local education, and the building's Civil War use as a hospital after the Battle of Mansfield.
Call ahead before building a trip around it, since hours can be limited. Paired with the battlefield, it gives Mansfield more historical texture than the town first lets on.
