Multicultural Center of the South

A small but well-curated museum dedicated to the cultural communities of north Louisiana — African American, Italian, Lebanese, Jewish, Vietnamese, Irish, and others. The exhibits cover migration histories, religious traditions, food, and music, with rotating displays drawn from local family collections.

Located on Texas Street downtown, it is a useful counterweight to the official narrative of Shreveport as a cotton-and-oil town. Free admission; donations welcomed.
