Shreveport eats well for its size. The local style is more Southern than Cajun — fried catfish, slow-smoked meat, pies, and good Italian-American food brought by the city's Sicilian community. The proper Creole and Cajun cooking is south of here, in Lafayette and New Orleans, but a few places in town do it justice.
