Open since 1944, Strawn's is the diner that everyone in Shreveport returns to. Breakfast is the main event — eggs, hash browns, country ham, biscuits and gravy — but the icebox pies are what made the place famous. Strawberry, peach, banana, chocolate, all built on a graham crust under a tower of whipped cream.
Three locations now, but the original on Kings Highway is the one to visit. Cash for the pie, card for everything else; expect a wait at weekend breakfast.
