The small public park at the heart of downtown, framed by Main Street, Mount Desert Street, and Firefly Lane. A bandstand sits in the centre; benches under shade trees fill on summer afternoons. The free Island Explorer buses to Acadia stop at the corner here, making the green the practical hub of any visit.
There is a free Wednesday-evening concert series in July and August, and the green hosts art fairs and a small farmers' market through the summer. Useful chiefly as a place to sit, eat an ice cream, and wait for a bus.
