The Barbara Fritchie House recalls one of Frederick's best-known Civil War stories. Fritchie, a Union supporter and friend of Francis Scott Key, became famous through the tale of her flying the Union flag as Stonewall Jackson's troops passed through town.
The story is wrapped in legend, but the house is still a useful stop on a walk through Frederick's Civil War sites.
