Carroll Creek Park is the easiest way to feel Frederick's downtown rhythm. The linear park follows the creek through the old center, with brick paths, bridges, murals, cafes, and restaurants close at hand.
It is a good first walk when you arrive, especially if you are also browsing Market Street. In winter the creek sometimes hosts Sailing Through the Winter Solstice, when small decorated boats are lit after dark.
