William P. Didusch Center for Urologic History

A small museum on the grounds of the American Urological Association's headquarters, dedicated to the history of urology — the surgical instruments, the textbooks, the diagnostic devices, the early X-ray plates. It is genuinely interesting if you have any patience for the history of medicine, and it is free.

Hours are weekday business hours by appointment. Call ahead. You will not see many other visitors.

A story
William P. Didusch was a medical illustrator who spent more than 60 years drawing the urinary tract for surgeons. The museum, attached to the American Urological Association headquarters, includes his original artwork and a collection of cystoscopes that traces the gruesome evolution of the procedure.
