Rock Hall sits at the end of Maryland Route 20 on the Chesapeake Bay's Eastern Shore. There is no train, no bus, and no ferry; you arrive by road or by boat.
By car: from Baltimore or DC, take the Bay Bridge across the Chesapeake to Kent Island, then north up Route 213 and west on Route 20. The drive is about an hour and a quarter from Baltimore in light traffic, much longer on summer Friday afternoons when the bridge backs up.
By boat: many visitors arrive under sail. Rock Hall has several full-service marinas with transient slips, a fuel dock, and dinghy docks for visiting yachts coming over from Annapolis or down from Baltimore. The harbour is well marked and protected.
