Watermans is the kind of crab house Maryland is famous for and Rock Hall depends on. Long picnic tables under a tin roof on a deck right over the water, crab mallets, paper towels, brown paper down the middle of the table, and a Bud Light in your hand. You order steamed blue crabs by the dozen and crack them yourself.
The kitchen also does steamed shrimp, rockfish sandwiches, fried platters, and a respectable crab cake if cracking is too much work. Live music many summer weekends. It is one of the simple pleasures of the Eastern Shore.
