Crocker Park

Small waterfront park with views across Marblehead Harbor

Crocker Park is a small green wedge of public land squeezed between houses at the edge of the old town, with benches overlooking the harbour. It is the sort of place that tells you something about a town's character: the view across the water to the outer harbour and the moored yachts is remarkable, and the park's scale and informality make it feel like something kept back for residents rather than prepared for visitors.

Arrive in the evening in summer and you'll find families and old men watching the harbour; arrive in October and you'll find it mostly empty, the water grey and the boats hauled out. A short walk from the Jeremiah Lee Mansion along Washington Street.
