Onota Lake

Onota Lake is Pittsfield's easy outdoor release valve, west of downtown and framed by Berkshire hills. Locals come for boating, fishing, swimming, picnics, and summer evenings when the light settles low over the water.

It is not wilderness, and that is fine. The lake is useful, accessible, and pretty, especially if you want a break between museums or a low-effort sunset.
