Humarock Beach

Long, hard-packed sand beach on a narrow shore cut off from Scituate by an 1888 storm.

Humarock Beach is one of Scituate's longer beaches, a mile-plus stretch of firm sand on the town's southern shore. Its geography is part of the story: the Portland Gale of 1888 rerouted the South River and left Humarock reached more naturally through Marshfield.

It is best for a proper beach walk rather than a quick harbour-side pause. In summer, parking rules still matter, so check access before you commit to the drive.
