Getting There

Springfield has an Amtrak station on Lyman Street served by the Lake Shore Limited (New York–Chicago) and the Vermonter, and by regional rail connecting to New Haven and New York. The journey from New York Penn Station takes about three hours. From Boston, the fastest option is by bus (Peter Pan and Greyhound run frequent services, around 90 minutes) rather than train, as there is no direct rail connection.

By car, Springfield sits at the junction of I-91 (running north-south along the Connecticut River) and I-90 (the Massachusetts Turnpike), making it easy to reach from New York, Boston, Hartford, or Vermont. Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, Connecticut is the closest major airport, about 20 miles south and served by most US carriers.
