Stockbridge is a compact village with an outsized cultural reputation. Norman Rockwell's work defines the town's identity, but there is more depth than the famous museum alone: a historic mansion with extraordinary garden design, a sculptor's studio open to the public, a genuine eighteenth-century inn, and the natural drama of Ice Glen just south of town. The surrounding Berkshires countryside fills the rest.
