A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum

Michigan Tech museum with one of North America's great mineral collections.

The A. E. Seaman Mineral Museum is the best indoor stop in Houghton-Hancock and the right companion to Quincy Mine. Its collections make the Keweenaw's native copper story visible, from local specimens to minerals gathered far beyond Michigan.

Go before or after the mine tour if you can. The museum gives context to the rock itself, while the mine shows what people did to pull it out of the peninsula.
