North Peak Brewing Company occupies a handsome 1898 brick building on Front Street and is both a working brewery and a full-service restaurant. The food goes well beyond the usual brewery menu: wood-fired pizzas, Great Lakes whitefish, house-smoked meats, and a burger that regularly tops local best-of lists. The beers are solid across the range, from the flagship Diabolical IPA to seasonals that use local cherries and fruit.
The building has several levels, including a rooftop deck with views down Front Street to the bay. It is a good all-rounder — suitable for a casual lunch, a pre-film dinner before the State Theatre, or an evening of drinking with the local craft beer selection. The house Diabolical IPA is a good entry point.
