Hotel Kaddatz

The Hotel Kaddatz is a 1916 Prairie-style hotel in the centre of downtown, one of the few surviving examples of early-20th-century commercial architecture in west-central Minnesota. It operated continuously as a hotel until 2020 and is now being redeveloped. The facade is intact and the ground floor has been intermittently occupied by businesses.

For architectural tourists, the Kaddatz is part of a loose walking tour of Fergus Falls's historic commercial district. Within a few blocks you can see the Red River Milling Company (a large brick industrial building from the 1880s), the Federal Building (a 1937 WPA-era courthouse), and the Otter Tail County Courthouse. A self-guided heritage walk brochure is available from the Fergus Falls Visitors Bureau.
