Shepherd of the Hills

Shepherd of the Hills ties Branson tourism back to Harold Bell Wright's 1907 novel, which helped popularise the Ozarks as a place of rustic drama and mountain romance. The modern attraction mixes outdoor theatre, towers, ziplines, and family activities.

Even if you skip the show, the site helps explain why Branson became Branson. Before the neon and tribute acts, visitors were already coming here for an imagined Ozark story.
