Beehive Basin is the classic summer hike above Big Sky. The trail climbs steadily through meadows toward a glacial basin and small alpine lake, with Lone Peak in view and wildflowers at their best in mid-summer.
It is not a casual town stroll: expect elevation gain, fast-changing mountain weather, and snow lingering into early season. On a clear day, it is the hike that makes Big Sky feel like more than a ski resort.
