Alberta Bair Theater

The main performing arts venue in Billings, a beautifully restored 1931 movie palace that now hosts touring Broadway productions, symphony performances, ballet, and major concert acts. The interior retains much of its original Art Deco detail — ornate plasterwork, period lighting, and a grand proscenium arch.

The theater is named for Alberta Bair, a Montana oil heiress who left much of her estate to the city for arts and cultural purposes. It seats about 1,400 and is the focal point of whatever cultural life Billings has on a given evening. Check the schedule; if something is on while you are in town, it is worth going.
