A complex of three caves -- Pictograph, Middle, and Ghost -- inhabited by prehistoric hunters for over 2,000 years. The pictographs (rock paintings) in the main cave depict animals, warriors, and geometric shapes, and are among the most significant rock art sites in the northern Plains. A paved trail leads past all three caves with interpretive signs. There is a picnic area among old box elder trees. Located 7 miles south of Billings off I-90. Open year-round, though the caves are most accessible from mid-April through October.
