Conrad Mansion Museum

The Conrad Mansion is the best single stop in Kalispell, a 26-room Norman Revival manor built in 1895 for the town's founder, Charles Conrad. Tours take you through a house full of original furnishings — painted ceilings, carved woodwork, period clothing, and the personal effects of the family that lived here until 1975. It's the kind of house that makes the frontier era feel genuinely lived-in rather than reconstructed.

The carriage house and surrounding grounds are also open. The mansion is a short walk from downtown at 330 Woodland Avenue, open for guided tours May through October. Allow about an hour.

A story
Charles Conrad made his fortune as a freighter supplying military forts on the Missouri River, then reinvented himself as a Kalispell banker and landowner. He commissioned this Norman Revival mansion in 1895 — three years after founding the town — and filled it with original furnishings that have stayed largely intact ever since, making it one of the best-preserved Victorian interiors in Montana.
