Montana's mountain landscape has been attracting painters and photographers for over a century, and the Hockaday collects the results. The permanent collection focuses on art of the Glacier and Flathead Valley region — landscapes, wildlife paintings, and Native American art — with rotating exhibitions that bring in contemporary work. The museum occupies the restored 1903 Carnegie Library building on Second Street East.
It's a small museum that punches above its size. If you have any interest in the visual landscape you're passing through, the Hockaday helps you see it differently. Admission is affordable; closed Sundays and Mondays.
