Stuhr Museum is Grand Island's strongest year-round attraction. Its best section is Railroad Town, a recreated 1890s prairie town with historic buildings, working trades, and interpreters who make the old Platte River settlement story feel lived in rather than displayed behind glass.
Allow a couple of hours if the outdoor buildings are open. The main museum adds Native American, pioneer, farm, and transportation exhibits, so it works even when the weather is poor.
