Boulder City sits 25 miles southeast of Las Vegas on US-93, the main highway between Las Vegas and Kingman, Arizona. The drive from Harry Reid International Airport takes around 35 minutes; from the Las Vegas Strip, about 45 minutes outside rush hour. There are no public buses or trains, so you will need a rental car or a tour shuttle.
Several daily tours from Las Vegas Strip hotels include Boulder City, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead — useful if you only want a half-day taster. Independent travellers will get more out of staying overnight and exploring on their own; the historic district is walkable once you arrive.
