Ely's restaurant scene is small and local — there is no destination dining here, but there are good honest meals. Cattlemen's at the Hotel Nevada handles steaks and prime rib in classic casino-restaurant style; Racks Bar & Grill across the street does a competent burger; La Fiesta has the better of two Mexican kitchens; and the Cell Block, attached to the small jailhouse-themed Jailhouse Casino, is open until 11 p.m. and is the closest thing to a 24-hour option. For breakfast, the Bristlecone Convention Center café and the Silver State Café both open at 6 a.m.
