The local history museum of White Pine County sits in a single-storey building on the east edge of downtown. The collection is the standard small-town American mix — pioneer artifacts, Shoshone basketry, a 19th-century pharmacy reconstruction, mining tools, doll collection — but it is unusually well-curated for a community of this size, and the staff are local volunteers happy to talk for hours about the area's history.
The yard outside has half a dozen wagons, a small gauge mine locomotive, and a recreated pioneer cabin. Admission is by donation. Limited hours, usually weekdays and Saturday mornings; verify before driving across town.
