Waterville Valley Resort is the reason most winter visitors come up the road. The ski area sits at the head of the valley and gives the town its rhythm, from cold weekday quiet to busy snow weekends.
Outside ski season, the resort still helps anchor the valley with lifts, trails, and mountain activities. It is not the wildest White Mountains experience, but it is the most straightforward one here.
