South Mountain Reservation is a large Essex County nature reserve spreading across West Orange, Maplewood and Millburn. Trails, paved walking paths and wooded slopes make it one of the area's best places for an easy half-day outdoors, with frequent sightings of deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife.
