Ojo Caliente is appealing year-round, though the experience changes with the seasons. Spring and autumn bring mild temperatures and clear skies — ideal for using the outdoor pools without overheating. Summer afternoons can be hot (35°C or more), but the pools are still pleasant and the resort shaded. Winter is particularly atmospheric: soaking in warm mineral water while snow dusts the red bluffs above is hard to beat. The resort can get booked out on weekends and over holidays, so weekday visits or advance reservations are advisable. The area sits at around 1,800 metres elevation, which means cool nights even in summer.
