The Silver City Museum fills the old Ailman House on Broadway, a good setting for a town built on mining money and frontier improvisation. Exhibits cover Grant County history, mining, ranching, local families, and the fires, floods, and booms that shaped the centre.
It is not a large museum, but it gives the town context before you wander the historic district. The gift shop and temporary exhibits are often worth a look too.
