Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard

The Fly Creek Cider Mill is a working cider mill about 4 kilometers northwest of Cooperstown, operating on the same site since 1856. The original water-powered press and machinery are still in use, and visitors can watch the pressing process in season — usually from September through November, when the apple harvest is underway.

The mill produces several varieties of hard and sweet cider along with apple butter, pies, and other orchard products, all sold in the adjacent farm store. The surrounding orchard is pleasant to wander, and the old mill building and pond make for good photographs. It is a family-friendly operation that works well as a half-day excursion from Cooperstown, particularly in the fall foliage season.
