Getting There

Ithaca is best reached by bus, car, or the small regional airport. Coach USA and FlixBus run daily services from New York City (about 4 hours 30 minutes), with the terminal at 710 West State St. By car, the city is at the southern tip of Cayuga Lake; from NYC the drive takes around four hours up the Catskills and through Binghamton.

Ithaca Tompkins International Airport (ITH), four miles north of town, has commuter flights to Newark, Philadelphia, and Detroit. The closest larger airports are Syracuse (about an hour north) and Rochester (90 minutes northwest). There is no passenger rail — Amtrak's nearest stop is Syracuse.
