Hands-on science museum north of downtown, end of the Sagan Planet Walk

A hands-on science museum on First Street, built largely by volunteers and now one of the better small-city science centres in the country. The exhibits run the usual range — water tables, optical illusions, animal corner — but with a sharper edge than most, reflecting the Cornell talent pool that has helped staff it for decades.

Best for families with children up to about twelve. The outdoor Sagan Planet Walk terminates here at Pluto. Closed Mondays in winter; admission moderate.
