West Meadow Beach is a narrow peninsula of public shoreline, marsh, and open sky on Long Island Sound. It is more interesting as a landscape than as a classic swimming beach, with wetlands, bird habitat, and a long, exposed edge to walk.
The old summer-cottage history gives the place a slightly unusual backstory, but most visitors come for air, water, and birds. Fees and access rules can vary in the beach season, so check before driving out in summer.
