The Noguchi Museum in Astoria, Queens occupies the building where sculptor Isamu Noguchi worked for the last decade of his life. Noguchi designed the museum himself, converting a former industrial space into thirteen galleries and an outdoor sculpture garden that display over 240 sculptures, drawings and models. It is consistently rated one of the finest single-artist museums in the world and is quieter and more contemplative than most Manhattan museums.
