Brooklyn Museum

One of the largest art museums in the US, with exceptional Egyptian and African collections

The Brooklyn Museum occupies a Beaux-Arts building at Eastern Parkway adjacent to Prospect Park and holds the second largest art museum collection in New York. Its Egyptian collection is one of the finest in the world, with over 1,600 objects. The African art collection, occupying several floors, is among the most comprehensive in any encyclopedic museum. The contemporary programme — including the Sackler Center for Feminist Art, home of Judy Chicago's The Dinner Party — has a strong activist tradition.
