Sahadi's has sold Middle Eastern groceries, nuts, spices, olives and prepared foods from its Atlantic Avenue shop since 1948. The store is organized around bulk bins of dried legumes, grains, nuts and dried fruit, and the prepared food counter — hummus, baba ghanoush, falafel, stuffed grape leaves — is among the best in the city. The neighbourhood around Atlantic Avenue between Hicks and Court Streets has a cluster of Middle Eastern shops and restaurants.
