The Staten Island Greenbelt is a 2,800-acre nature reserve occupying the middle of Staten Island, the largest stretch of contiguous forest within New York City. The network of over 35 miles of trails ranges from paved accessible paths to unpaved forest routes. The High Rock Park section at the north end has the best trail network and a nature centre with maps and programme information.
