Eating Out

Utica's immigrant communities have made it one of the more interesting places to eat in upstate New York. The Bosnian, Burmese, and Somali restaurants along Bleecker Street are the main draw, but the city also has its own local food tradition — Utica greens (escarole with sausage, peppers, and breadcrumbs) is a dish you will rarely find outside the Mohawk Valley.
