CaroMont Health Park is the home stadium of the Gastonia Baseball Club (formerly the Gastonia Honey Hunters), a professional independent baseball team. The park opened in 2021 as part of a downtown revitalization effort, and it has given the city a focal point for community events and summer evenings out. Minor league and independent baseball is a particular pleasure in the American South — the games are relaxed, the tickets are cheap, and the stadiums are often the most convivial places in any small city.
The park holds around 3,000 fans and sits close to the downtown area. Check the schedule if you are visiting in the April-to-September season — an evening game here is a good way to spend a warm Carolina night.
