Kure Beach Pier is the town's front porch: a long wooden fishing pier set in the middle of the small business district, beside Ocean Front Park. The town calls it the oldest fishing pier on the East Coast, and whether you fish or not, it is the place to read the water, watch locals compare catches, and get a feel for the beach.
Fishing passes and tackle are handled at the pier house. Walkers can still enjoy the pier atmosphere, and the boardwalk swings nearby are good for a low-effort sunrise or evening stop.
