Buckstop Junction is an open-air history village assembled from old buildings moved in from around the Missouri Valley. Schoolhouses, shops, churches, and farm structures give a physical sense of the settlement era that shaped central North Dakota.
It is most rewarding during open days and events, when the buildings are staffed or active. At quieter times it is still a useful stop for travellers trying to put Bismarck's prairie history into a more tangible frame.
