Confluence Coffee

Named for the meeting of the Missouri and Yellowstone rivers that defines the geography of the area, Confluence Coffee is Williston's most established independent cafe. The espresso drinks are well-made, the pour-overs are taken seriously, and there is usually a seasonal pastry worth having alongside. The space is comfortable rather than stylish — mismatched furniture, local art on the walls, reliable wifi — and it functions as the informal living room for the portion of Williston's population that works remotely or simply wants somewhere to be that is not a chain.

On winter mornings it fills with the particular mixture of people that small northern cities generate: contractors waiting for conditions to improve, students doing coursework, retirees with no pressing reason to be anywhere else. The coffee holds up against whatever the weather is doing outside, which in this climate is no small thing.

Hours are typically early morning through mid-afternoon on weekdays, with slightly shorter hours on weekends. Located in central Williston.
