Barnesville Petroglyph

The Barnesville Petroglyph is the quietest of the area's sights, and also the oldest. It is a prehistoric carved-rock site west of town, easy to miss if you are not looking for it.

Go with modest expectations: this is not a large archaeological park. Its value is in the pause it creates, a reminder that the Ohio hills had long human stories before the village, the railway, and the farms arrived.
