The Adena Conical Burial Mound is a compact but meaningful prehistoric earthwork near Chillicothe. At about 20 ft high and 100 ft across, it is not as large as the region's better-known earthwork complexes, but it gives a clear sense of the Woodland-period mound-building tradition that shaped this part of Ohio long before European settlement.
