Yoctangee Park

Address Riverside Street, Chillicothe, OH 45601

A pleasant city park north of downtown along the Scioto River, with a lake, walking and cycling paths, a bandshell that hosts summer concerts, and the Chillicothe-Ross County Bicentennial Bridge — a covered pedestrian bridge across the river. The park's name comes from the Shawnee word for the Paint Creek; the original Shawnee settlement of Chalakatha sat near here before the Ohio statehood era.

In summer the park is the focus of community life; in autumn the riverside maple and sycamore trees turn spectacularly.
