Getting There

By air: Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) is on the Kentucky side of the Ohio River, about 20 kilometres south of downtown. Delta has historically used it as a major hub. A taxi or ride-share to downtown takes 25 to 30 minutes. Dayton International Airport (DAY), 80 kilometres north, is sometimes cheaper for connecting flights.

By train: Amtrak's Cardinal route stops at Cincinnati Union Terminal (now the Cincinnati Museum Center) three times per week in each direction, connecting to Chicago and Washington DC via Indianapolis. The station is a few kilometres west of downtown; trains arrive at inconvenient hours, so a taxi is usually necessary.

By car: Cincinnati sits at the junction of I-71 (Columbus and Louisville), I-74 (Indianapolis), and I-75 (Dayton and Lexington). Driving into downtown from the south on I-71/75 offers one of the finer urban approach views in the Midwest — the skyline rises from the Ohio River floodplain as you cross from Kentucky.

By bus: Greyhound serves Cincinnati from most major Midwest cities, arriving and departing from a downtown station.
