Mohican State Park

Mohican State Park is the main reason to come to Loudonville. The Clear Fork of the Mohican River cuts through a narrow wooded gorge here, with hiking trails, a covered bridge, a fire tower, and river access for canoeing, kayaking, and tubing.

The park is busy on warm weekends, but it still feels like a real break from the flatter farm country around it. If you only have time for one walk, aim for the gorge overlook and hemlock-lined trails near the river.
